The Second Issue of LUSTRA Magazine is out
The new issue of the magazine includes 14 articles in eight columns. The first column is the ethnographic one, called Perefernum, which this time includes the work of Ferenc Pozsony about the famous Szekler chimney cake. The column on local history (Cronograph), presents no less than six writings. Péter Veres offers some interesting information on the northern lights, which could be seen even above Odorheiu Secuiesc in the autumn of 1591, while Gusztáv Mihály Hermann reveals some aspects of spiritual culture in medieval Szeklerland. Two of the authors, namely János Ráduly and János Mihály, are dealing with the issue of Szekler runes. Two further works refer to the city of Cristuru Secuiesc. Ibolya Sándor-Zsigmond, our colleague from the museum of Cristuru Secuiesc, presents the written sources on the local viticulture and winemaking. Attila Miklósi publishes data of history of economy related to the local relations in the times of the dualist monarchy. The archaeology column, called In situ, continues the work of Zsolt Nyárádi about the archaeological excavations in the former upper market square of Odorheiu Secuiesc. In the column Glossary we can discover the review of two books by Árpád P. Buzogány: the volume of János Ráduly on Szekler runes and prehistory, respectively the one by Hunor Szolláth about tales from Sovata city. In the column called The Great War Csaba Gidó continues the chronicle of the events from WWI. In the column Folio we can discover a new episode from the study of historian and archivist Zoltán Bicsok about the collection of seals of the museum from Cristuru Secuiesc, a collection guarded by the Miercurea Ciuc Department of the National Archives of Romania. The Sign of the Master column is back. This time we can read the work of János Gyöngyössy about the function of historical graphics. Finally the column entitled Signum includes an article about the famous painter from Odorheiu Secuiesc, János Szabó. The publishing costs of the second year of Lustra magazine are supported by Bethlen Gábor Alap from Budapest.
